Excavation of the Roman Cityalt UNDERWATER SURVEY AND MARITIME ARCHAEOLOGY, 2012. . A proper training in Underwater archaeology requires basic knowledge in survey methodology and identification of archaeological objects (shipwreck elements, amphorae, etc). The Ecomuseum will be exloring the Roman port of Sanitja and the coast of Cavalleria Cape, identifying all types of underwater archaeological remains. Excavation of the Roman CityTHE EXCAVATION OF THE ROMAN CITY, 2012. . 2012’s campaign for terrestrial archaeology will be taking place in the urban settlement at the Roman city of Sanisera (123 B.C. – 600 A.D.), in which we expect to find houses, streets and unique buildings. Excavation of the NecropolisEXCAVATION OF THE NECROPOLIS 2012. The Roman city of Sanisera is surrounded by several necropolis/ cemeteries. For 2012, we will be excavating one of them. More information can be found in Excavation of the Necropolis[+]

The Roman City and Necropolis DigTHE ROMAN CITY & NECROPOLIS DIG 2012. . At the centre of the Roman city of Sanisera, there is a building which we have to excavate by following the Harris methodology. The Excavation of the Prehistoric Funerary CaveTHE EXCAVATION OF THE PREHISTORIC FUNERARY CAVE 2012. On the northern coast of Menorca, there are rich funerary burials dating from the Bronze Age (2500 B.C. approx.). For 2012 we are going to excavate a cave which was used as a funerary area.. The Excavation of the Prehistoric Cave and Necropolis Dig

PREHISTORIC CAVE AND ROMAN NECROPOLIS DIG 2012. We would like to gain a better understanding of the funerary rituals and practices carried out in Ancient times in the Mediterranean. For 2012, this program will combine field work in a cave dating from the Bronze Age, which is located on the northern coast of Menorca, and in one of the necropolis which surrounds the Roman city of Sanisera.
